Self- Improvement

As part of our growth we have given ourselves the task of having conferences which are a space to reflect and share tools, methodologies, experiences and also preventive projects linked to the reduction of risk. This is with the purpose that our community has the necessary skills to perform efficiently.

One of the conferences that made us very aware as a green school was “Disaster Risk Reduction: A Necessary Condition for Sustainable Development”, presented by Valeria Maurizi, a specialist in Public Policy and Disaster Risk Reduction within the UNDP. The points addressed in this presentation included: What is the reduction of risks and how is it related to sustainable development; the challenges and progress in Tabasco and in Mexico; and what can be done by the academic institutions at the different levels. Following this conference our staff is dedicated to take preventive measures to reduce natural risks, and be more committed to the environment.

On the other hand we had Dr. Armando Rey Sánchez, a Colombian writer and humanist, who presented the theme “Mental Health”. Among the relative points of the conference, he also offered 8 golden rules on how to become a better person:
INTROSPECTION.
TOLERANCE.
ADAPTATION.
DISCERNING.
DECIDING.
FACING.
COOPERATION.
LETTING GO.

We would like to thank each presenter for their participation in our community. The contribution from these conferences helps us to be better prepared when facing the constant challenges and be competitive to achieve success.
