ELEMENTARY

PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME (PYP) OF THE INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE

COMPETENCIES IN THE STUDENT

At Greenville the “Learning Experiences” of our Elementary students create a stimulating and meaningful educational context.

Elementary students become “agents” of their own learning and work collaboratively which allows them to enhance their skills, knowledge and attitudes.

By promoting in them self-discipline and reflection, students are protagonists in their own learning process and emotional growth.

At Greenville Elementary we make our students feel safe, independent, and capable of analyzing and solving problems from a transdisciplinary and conceptual approach to inquiry.

We offer a multilingual education: English as the language of instruction, Spanish as the mother tongue and French as the language of acquisition which favors oral and written communication in a natural, analytical and reflective way in our Elementary students.

Only in Greenville can you find areas of knowledge that promote in our students a global vision, love for the environment and respect for multiculturalism through subjects such as Environment and Intercultural Studies.

Elementary classrooms are equipped with electronic whiteboards and educational platforms that allows the creation of dynamic and interactive learning environments

A LEARNING EXPERIENCE PERFECT FOR YOUR CHILDREN

LOWER ELEMENTARY

The subject of Chess is an icon of Greenville as it elevates the intelligence quotient (IQ), exercises both hemispheres of the brain, enhances memory and the ability to solve problems in our students.

The reading-writing process is consolidated through phonological awareness, perceptual -visual and auditory exercises, memory stimulation, muscle tone, laterality and spatial location.

UPPER ELEMENTARY

We promote teamwork, problem solving, the creation of arguments and hypothesis through real scenarios.

Students take action and value themselves as agents of change in response to their inquiries.

At the end of Elementary, students reach cognitive maturity so that, in a collaborative way, they build their inquiries and share them with the educational community through the PYP Exhibition.
