Developing Competencies in the Student

Our Educational Model is based on making learning a motivating, meaningful, relevant and connected to the real world process in order to favorably develop the skills of our students.  It is for this reason why, in this edition, we share 13 articles about activities that reflect how our students from the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme acquire knowledge and skills, both inside and outside of the classroom.

As part of our students’ skills development, activities such as sport, music and chess significantly contribute to their comprehensive formation.

In regards to the evaluation process, we have summative assessments, so in this edition we are sharing the Kindergarten 2 Carnival and the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) presented by the Diploma Programme´s 11th grade students.

All these learning experiences contribute to achieving the fundamental principals of our model.  As such, it is important that the entire educational community is informed and actively participates in these processes and components.
