The Sixth Grade Exhibition corresponding to the 2019-2020 School Year, was developed following the Transdisciplinary Theme “How We Express Ourselves”, with the Central Idea “Ways in Which Cultures Use Technology to Adapt During the Pandemic”. The concern about this issue arose from the impact that the appearance of COVID-19 had on humanity worldwide.

During the design process of the Exhibition, the students were grouped according to their interests focused towards the development of concepts such as culture, technology, adaptation, form, change and connection.  From this, 5 lines of inquiry emerged with the aim of learning more about how cultures have used technology to adapt 1) their social and political lifestyles, 2) security measures, 3) the economy and labor, 4 ) the way we entertain ourselves, and 5) the impact on our daily life.

This project offered the opportunity to put into practice their skills of inquiry, communication, socialization, collaborative thinking; as well as, their ability to self-manage time.

All of this was very important, since it helped the students to be well informed through the consultation of updated and reliable sources, in the same way, they were open to listen to the testimonies of nearby sources that have been impacted in their way of life; This made them reflect on the great community formed by the human being, the impact that decisions made on the other side of the world have in our lives; the importance of being supportive and empathetic with those who find themselves in difficult situations; and at the same time, recognize the capacity of the human being to adapt to changes and prevail.
