At the recent 20th CANACINTRA Tabasco Industrial Expo 2024, Greenville International School stood out for its participation in the 16th University Business Plan Expo, which allows young people to present innovative and financially viable projects. The projects presented by our institution received notable recognitions in various categories, demonstrating the talent and skills of its students. This event, which brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and academics, serves as an ideal platform to foster the exchange of ideas and collaboration among different sectors.
Greenville International School focused on highlighting its commitment to holistic education and skills development through business plans and prototype exhibitions. Students had the opportunity to showcase their innovative projects, emphasizing their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as to interact with industry professionals, providing them with a broader perspective on the professional world and available opportunities.
In the Commerce and Services – Upper Secondary Level category, Greenville International School students demonstrated their creativity and business acumen with two outstanding projects:
The project “Smart Walk,” presented by Isabela Tomas Camarini and Jimena Vásquez Trujillo, consists of a dog harness with sensors and a mobile application that detect the pet’s location and vital signs—such as body temperature and heart rate—allowing early detection of heatstroke, stress, and respiratory difficulties, thus ensuring pets’ safety and health. This prototype earned first place thanks to its innovative proposal that combines technology and accessibility, improving the experience of walking pets in urban environments.
Meanwhile, the project “Solazo,” presented by Francisco Javier Chagolla Estrada, Regina López Santillán, José Antonio Bencomo Izquierdo, Tamara Watermann Murguía, and Sthela Segura Rosales, is a solar oven prototype that offers a sustainable, efficient, and healthy cooking solution for Indigenous communities in southern Mexico that lack access to conventional energy sources. This prototype earned second place, standing out for its focus on sustainability and the use of natural resources.
In the Industry and Manufacturing – Upper Secondary Level category, Greenville International School students also excelled with their proposals:
The project “Hairmex,” presented by Judit Fernanda Valenzuela Culebro, Isabel Camila Guerrero Sanguino, Camila Victoria Cedeño Marín, Su Bin Song, and Adrián Rafael Betancourt Álvarez, developed innovative hair-based filters to treat hydrocarbon and fuel spills in the ocean while preserving marine ecosystems. This prototype, a net made from hair, earned second place, offering a new perspective on efficient device manufacturing using renewable materials and minimizing environmental impact.
Likewise, the project “Ecoblock,” presented by Estefanía Fragoso Anglada, Yadira Mena Pérez, and Vivian Araceli Ortega Méndez—the only block in the world without sand among its components, replacing it with natural coconut fiber—earned third place for being an ecological construction solution that uses commonly discarded materials and sustainable techniques.
These achievements reflect not only the talent and dedication of the students, but also Greenville International School’s commitment to quality education and innovation that inspires and empowers its students. Their outstanding participation in the 20th CANACINTRA Tabasco Industrial Expo 2024 is a testament to their students’ potential to lead in diverse fields and contribute positively to society.
Congratulations to all participants and the educational team on these important achievements!
